A young flautist who recently kicked off her solo career, after several projects with Jasmim, haraem or Savage Ohms, and who makes and ambient hybrid between composition and improvisation. Making uncommon use of a transverse flute as the sound source, she has a full-on orchestra of effects pedals with which she timbrally draws and polishes a series of beautiful and abstract images which refer back to several moments of ambient, among which the canonical Eno, the Kranky school (Windy & Carl, Stars of the Lid, etc), Basinski – but she told OUT.RA in an interview regarding her recent visit to Barreiro that she holds as a heroine one of the goddesses of modular synthesis and library music, Delia Derbyshire, which makes sense, given the pulsing patterns they owe to that tradition and that Violeta also applies in these visions of hers.
